PROSTRATE
PROBLEMS
By Ivan
Hince
Before
I go headlong into writing about Prostrate problems I
should point out that I am not a Doctor or anything to
do with the Medical profession.
Most
things that I write about are through personal
experience or from what I call common sense.
To be
in the situation where you're over the age of 50 and to
be getting up several times each night to urinate will
tell you that you have prostrate problems. Again I
should stress at this point that it does not mean you
have prostrate cancer.
The
first thing to do is to get yourself checked out by your
Doctor, and I should say at this point that only a few
cases will be cancerous and that most cases are purely
down to high blood pressure or your diet.
Your
Doctor will check you out by placing a finger inside
your rectum to check if the prostrate is enlarged.
This quite painless and very quick and is nothing to be
worried about.
Then
the Doctor will normally check your blood pressure and
take a sample of blood to be analyzed.
In most
cases it will be simply high blood pressure which the
Doctor will prescribe some tablets for. There are
many other alternatives on the market should you not
want to go down that route as the Doctor will explain
that once you start taking them you're normally on them
for the rest of your life.
When
the blood tests come back the Doctor will then know if
the tests showed up any cancerous cells, and if that
does happen he will make an appointment with an
Urologist.
If the
results show your prostrate problems are simply high
blood pressure he will prescribe something like
Tamsulosin which will help with the swelling of the
prostrate.
Please
note that all drugs can have side affects, and by taking
Tamsulosin you may find that it will effect your
ejaculation.
A final
word on high blood pressure is for the patient to look
at your own diet as this in most cases will help.
Try to
cut down on sugar based products like cakes, biscuits,
chocolate. Also cut down on cigarettes, coffee and
eating too much meat, and eat plenty of fresh fruit and
vegetables.
There
are many diets available on the Internet, and if you
look for the ones that offer Alkaline rather than Acidic
you cant go far wrong.
A
good website on diets can be found here. Please
click here and you will be taken to the website.
A good
alternative to Tamsulosin is a natural supplement call
Saw Palmetto which is something I take myself and find
it a great deal more beneficial that Tamsulosin. You may to look this up on the
Supplements for men page.
