Crohn's disease is one of those Medical
diseases that is very hard to diagnose, as each case can be
different, and each case can show symptoms of other diseases. For
those that have been diagnosed the painful symptoms are something
that most would like to forget, and hope to go away.
Unfortunately it's not one of
those illness where you can buy Crohn's Disease
treatment over counter at your local chemist
although I'm sure a lot of sufferers would like it that
way.
Usually with
the first onset of severe stomach craps, sickness, or severe
diarrhea which often leads blood stains when you wipe, the normal
port of call would be your Doctor. At this point the Doctor would
have several different types of prognosis that might be the problem,
and should the symptoms carry on he would automatically send you to
a specialist.
Obviously the Doctor would have done blood
tests, which would probably only show that you have anaemia, or to
be lacking in certain vitamins. It's only when you see a specialist
that he can conduct special tests that the disease can be diagnosed.
Having read many articles by different
Doctors it boils down to the fact they are not sure what causes it.
Some say that it's hereditary, while others will say that it's just
one of those things that happen to certain people.
Medical science
has done many exhaustive tests on patients that suffer from all over
the world, and their findings do vary, but the one thing that does
stand out is the type of food we eat, or things that we subject our
body too.
Some of the things are varied. Things like
Contraceptive pills, or smoking, or artificial sugars, and who knows
what things like pollution or preservatives do to our system.
One of the main things that I picked up on
was the fact that Crohn's can affect you from anywhere from your
mouth to your anus, which to me was quite a shock as I always
believed that it was only in the lower intestine.
Now as I'm not a medical person it would be
fair to say that I'm not the sort of person to tell you right from
wrong when dealing with this terrible disease, but the more I read
the more the symptoms were associated with out diets.
Basically the
things I picked up on was that the fat from meats, and the sugar
type products, or products with artificial sugars were the ones to
avoid. Perhaps I even picked up the fact that we should almost turn
vegetarian, and that we should make sure that we had our fair share
of vitamins. These type of things I'm sure your Doctor or your
Specialist would talk over with you, and in most cases you would
receive help from a nutritionist.
As each case can have it's fair share of
different problems that attach themselves to a Crohn's disease
sufferer, or that are associated to Crohn's disease each case can be
complicated to say the least. I have read that in odd cases it can
carry cancers in the intestine, or even ulcers.
If you search the Internet for Crohn's
disease you will find that there are thousands of pages that relate
to Crohn's disease, and some even offer cures. A lot of these I
would take with a pinch of salt, and I'm sure many are just bogus
things to take your hard earned money.
